More late night mobile phone photography in my Streets of Moscow series.
Tonight's walk was in the center of Moscow, near the Moskva River which, as it turns out, is apparently brimming with fish -- more about it later.
Looking along Prechistenskaya Embankment at the Kremlin in the distance.
Ditto.
From the bridge over the Moskva River.
Tsereteli's controversial Peter the Great monument (which might have been Columbus previously) smart fix'ed.
Untouched by photoshop.
Looking across the Moskva River.
Smart fix'ed.
The Christ the Savior Cathedral is across the river.
If you look along the stone parapet, you'll see a figure of a man there. Well, he is actually fishing in the Moskva river -- right next to the Kremlin... and guess what he's got a catch too!
Lookee here -- it's a fair sized European Perch... which must mean that the river is clean because it is a predatory fish and depends on small fish for survival, on which it preys, so it means there is plenty of it in there to support it, and it looks well fed.
The Perch was safely released back in the river.
Well, in what other major capital of the world can you catch a nice fish in the city center?

Christ the Savior Cathedral again.
A street scene with traffic and lights.
